With Valentine's Day around the corner I wanted to share a love themed card with you here on the blog! 2 weeks ago I added a few new products to my paper crafting stash and I couldn't wait to use them on this card. The Kiss, Kiss paper pad from Crate Paper is outstanding. It is just so soft and pretty. While it works for Valentine's Day, I think that it can be used beyond the holiday as well.
A few tips on this project, for the 'love' die cut, I cut it out of watercolor paper. I chose this paper because it is a thick, heavy weight. I wanted the die cut to have a bit of definition/height from the background and so I cut 2 'love' pieces and then glued them together. It worked quite well and totally gave me the look I was after.
And for the 2 hearts on the lower portion of the card I used Tattered Rose Distress Ink by Ranger and applied it onto watercolor paper to create my own soft pink paper.
The "Barcarole" paper on the top portion of the card is from antique sheet paper music from the early 1900s. It added a very beautiful touch to the card.
I am pleased to share links to some of the products I used on this card. The links take you to Ellen Hutson, an online paper craft store.
