Q&A session

I had the opportunity to participate in a Q&A session over at a Canadian Scrapbooking site called Scrapbooker's clubhouse, and it has been posted today. It was a pleasure to participate and I wanted to share the link here as they asked some great questions. I also created the following card especially for them:

I hope you're each having a great week.

Some creations to share

Zoe_layout_w_logo

If you're signed up for the Melissa Frances newsletter, you've probably received the June/July issue to your inbox today. I particularly enjoyed working with the fresh color pallet of the Ambiente Collection in this issue. If you don't already receive the newsletters, you can read this month's issue here, and you can sign up to receive future issues here.

I thought I'd share my contributions to the newsletter with you. I had so much fun with the 'Zoe' layout. The photos (not taken by me) were just so precious. The card I created was based on the sketch Becky Fleck created for this issue. I can never seem to use a sketch exactly as shown, but I find it a great jumping off place. I hope you like them.

Celebrate good times!

Whimsical_whites_photo5_smaller

As I shared on Friday, Rick and I had an exciting weekend planned. We decided to escape to Seattle to celebrate our Eleventh Anniversary!!

I love this man of mine so much. He's my best friend and I love nothing more than hanging out with him. So I think you'll agree a celebration was in order. We planned a quick overnight trip down to Seattle to watch a Mariners game (they lost), some great meals (the Cheesecake Factory and Ruth's Chris Steakhouse) and a bit of shopping with a stop at two salvage yards and one sweet antique shoppe. The store, called Whimsical Whites in Kent was a true treasure trove. I've been looking for a store that screamed 'me' for ages in Seattle. I've found some cool stores, but not that one whose inventory  (both new and vintage) was so perfectly in line with my tastes that I wanted to take everything home. This is that store. It specializes in vintage millinery, ribbons and textiles. My budget would be in very serious trouble if the store was local to me, that's for sure. A special thank you to my new friend Tiffany Kirchner who graciously shared a list of her favorite Seattle stops with me and who introduced me to this gem.

All the photos in this post are from the store, I'll have to show you the treasures that came home with me another day.

Enjoy!

Have a happy weekend!

Hinge_album_smaller

Something soft and pretty to leave with you before we each start our weekend. This project features one of the new hinge albums from Melissa Frances. Speaking of which, if you haven't been to the Melissa France blog yet, please get yourself on over. There is a fabulous giveaway today and we're celebrating in big style as it's Melissa's last chemo treatment today. Yipee!! There's some yummy inspiration on there too as the entire design team organized a surprise for her. I'm sure you'll love what we did.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone. Rick and I have some great plans and I'm looking forward to sharing what we did with you on Monday.

Prizes, prizes, prizes

Just a friendly heads up that there is a huge celebration with great prizes going on at the Melissa Frances blog this week as Friday will mark Melissa's final active treatment for her original stage 3 breast cancer diagnosis. So head on over, maybe one of you will be one of the lucky winners.

It makes the world go 'round

Card_true_love

This card uses lots of scraps from discontinued 'oldie but goodie' products. I love creating cards like this that are little collages put together. So easy and great to use up those odds and ends that we crafters accumulate. (Card features sticker from Rebecca's Nostalgiques line (a fav. for years!), Melissa Frances paper, vintage lace, buttons, and stamps from Anna Griffin, Stampington, Stampotique and Making Memories. The heart is from cardstock and the fabric label is K&Co.)

Off to get creative in the studio!

(ps- Rebecca's blog is a must-see today. So, if you haven't already visited her, please use the link above to check it out!)

Brand new

Brand_new_for_blog

I don't know about you, but frequently after I finish a project or layout it becomes my new 'favorite'. However, ever since I finished this layout (which was featured in the Canadian Scrapbooker Summer issue) it's remained my favorite. I love the colors, the products, the baby...and (gasp) I think I may just be getting this photography thing as these are from the newborn photo shoot I did for my newest nephew. I hope you enjoy!

Today I've got to get to some work, before heading to the post office to mail a few packets. If I'm lucky some items I've won off ebay auctions will be there for me to pick up...Here's hoping they look as good in real life as they did on screen.

Have a nice day!

Pleased as punch!

Canadian_scrapbooker_cover

I'm beyond excited to share that my artwork (featuring some of my favorite Melissa Frances products) made the cover of the Canadian Scrapbooker Summer 08 issue. It's such an honor and I was giddy when I received the issue in my mailbox last week. Hope you like it!

And the winner is....

(Thanks to the random number generator) Poster #4:

Lulu Sparkles!

(I've sent you an email Lulu, so be sure to check your inbox).

Sorry for being a bit late in posting the winner, I had forgotten that I had agreed to pick my Dad up from a doctor's appointment and then take him home. Thanks everyone for 'playing'. I've got some exciting news to share, hopefully I'll get it up tomorrow.
